Dear Natures Sunshine Managers and Distributors;

Your support is urgently needed now!

What is Happening:  Ohio has introduced the Consumer Health Freedom bill, H.B. 259, sponsored by Representative John Adams and Representative Kenny Yuko.  We are thrilled to bring you a bill you can support!  It is our long awaited solution to the problems we deal with daily in Ohio concerning our rights to help one another using natural health modalities. 

What you can do: 

Write and call your own legislators and the Committee Members where the bill will be heard, NOW, and let them know you support H.B. 259!  (See how to do that below.)  WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHER!  A concerted effort will get this accomplished. 

What the Bill Does:   H.B. 259 protects consumer access to complementary and alternative health care practitioners including herbalists, naturopaths, homeopaths, and many other natural health and complementary health practitioners.  It protects the right of practitioners to provide complementary and alternative health care services and returns freedom of speech and choice of wellness lifestyle to the individual. CONTACTING LEGISLATORS

1.      Distribute Attached One Page Call to Action:  Please forward this email to your customers and successline and ask your customers, friends, and family to sign the one-page letter attached and send by fax to all the members of the committee listed below and to your own legislator.  If you don’t know your personal legislators’ contact information you can locate them by going to http://www.house.state.oh.us/index.php?option=com_displaymembers&Itemid=125.  Those without Internet access can call their board of elections or go to the public library.  Telephone calls, emails or faxes are extremely important at this time.

2.       Contact Ohio Health and Aging Committee Members.   Call the phone numbers listed below to leave a message with each member of the Health and Aging Committee or e-mail or fax the attached form letter to the committee.  Call from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

The message: “I support H.B.259 – it protects my access to natural health care practitioners and they are very important to my health care choice options.

CONTACTING INDIVIDUAL LEGISLATORS

If you write or e-mail, begin your communication with Dear Representative ____________; Include bill number for example:  RE:  Vote YES on H.B. 259.

Please take the time to write a personal note on your letter as this will have a greater impact with the legislators.  Tell them about your rights as a consumer in Ohio to a free and educated choice in health care providers. Also tell them that you depend on alternative and complementary care for you and your family.

BILL HEARINGS

Where and When the Bill will be heard:  The hearings on H.B. 259 will begin in the Ohio Committee on Health and Aging  this week, where they will hear testimony from proponents of the bill.   It is expected that two additional hearings will held within the next few weeks before a vote is taken on the bill.
